Delicious food ! The soup was simply the best thing to have on a cold day, and the portions are very generous

the dawet isn’t what Indonesians would call cendol dawet. it’s just rose syrop drink that is too sweet for my taste. the tempe sandwich was excellent though and we will be back to try more on the menu.

We LOVED the food. The experience is a bit chaotic, I recommend grabbing a table then sending someone up to order. And order less than you think you need. We split two items one large and one small and it was plenty for two people. But sooooo good. Any of their meats with rice you can't go wrong.

Damn good food, huge portions, very fair price. Service at your table is great, just be prepared to fight the old man at the counter - it’s part of the charm of this place. Gets very busy as everyone gets off of work. Order before 5:35pm or you’ll be waiting a while.

Excellent food and service. My first time eating Surinamese food. The Saoto soup, Nasi Moksi, and lemper were all highlights. The nasi moksi with the yellow sauce was particularly memorable. Great option if you’re in the area; takeout seems popular as well.

I’ve been there several times, good food but the staff is really unfriendly. The closing hours are listed as 9pm, I went there at 7:30pm and they refused to serve us saying they were only doing take away. The restaurant was full and they were still serving many people at the tables. I tried to kindly ask if we can eat there as we wanted to have a quick meal before watching a movie, but they said no. They did not make me feel welcome and I won’t be going there again.

I came to this Surinamese restaurant while strolling in Amsterdam to have lunch, I ordered a dish of rames, which is an Indonesian recipe (the waiter thought it was Surinamese, it's so widespread in the Netherlands and Suriname that today they feel it's their). Rames is basically two dishes with (I think) rice, boiled eggs, skewered meat, chopped meat, finely chopped onions, some green beans and a lot of sauces and spices. There was also a tiny bowl of brown sauce, probably beans sauce. It was the BIGGEST dish I have ever received in my life, for 17€ you can get all that stuff! It was so much that I had to ask for a plastic bowl, fork and bag to take away the remaining food, I could only eat half! I also ordered a lemonade, it was the sweetest lemonade I drank in my life! The food was awesome, the place was clean and the atmosphere is nice, even if it's a small place. You can pay with card. The personnel is nice as well and available, even if their English level is a bit low, but I'll give five stars to this place
